Stretching chest and mobilising upper back using a rolled up towel

Sometimes a simple gentle stretch is what is required.  If you spend hours hunched forward, this can help encourage your upper back to move against that forward bend and your chest to open up 

Pigeon

Pigeon stretch is great for stretching your gluteal muscles (buttock muscles), it uses gravity and is very effective.  Adam shows us how it is done

A variation is shown here.  It is slightly more difficult for most people and targets different fibres in the gluteal muscles.  For many people doing the pigeon stretch it is good to alternate between the two

Cat - Camel

Adam shows us this great stretch for mobilising the back into flexion and extension. 

Pec stretches

A really useful stretch for anyone getting a bit round-shouldered because they spend too much time at the pc or if you are training at the gym to increase the size of your pectoral muscles.  An over-tight pec minor may even be causing numbness and tingling in your arm or hand (although there are many other causes so do seek professional advice).

A good stretch for the upper back.  Great if you've spent the day working over a desk

Reverse flies

Another one for the round shouldered.  This time you are strengthening the muscles in the back which pull the shoulder blades together and the shoulders backward

Sometimes the muscles on the side of the neck can become tight and this is a good stretch for those.

A great stretch for the hard to reach and troublesome piriformis and a great alternative to using a tennis ball in the area.
